Day1: Met on arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Transfer to your hotel. Time to relax and recover from your jetlag.

Day 2: By Jeep to Pinjore (5 Hours) overnight stay in an elaborate palace dating from the Mogul period and now a luxury hotel set amidst beautiful gardens.

Day 3: By Jeep through the Himalayan foothills and increasingly dramatic scenery of valleys and gorges into the Kullu Valley. Check into your hotel at the hill resort of Manali (6,765 feet)

Day 4 & 5: Free days in Manali to acclimatize for the days ahead. Wander around the local bazaar and visit the hot sulphur springs, ancient temples and the art gallery of the famous Russian painter Nicolas Roerich close to the medieval Naggar castle with its panoramic views. Also go for lovely walks through thick deodar forests.

Day 6: Walking through fields of maize and rice passing through a couple of quaint old villages we commence our trek. A four hour walk uphill rewarded with delightful views over the valley and the high peaks of the surrounding Pir Panjal mountains ranges. We reach the Negi family house in the fascinating village of Setan (7,260ft). The people here are Buddhists and belong to a traditional nomadic culture. We make our camp next to the house in which two double rooms are available on request. Relax on the verandah to watch a glorious sunset.

Day 7: A gentle walk through verdant pine forests and grassy meadows where buffalos of the nomadic Gujjar tribes graze. From our camp next to the river we see an impressive waterfall plunging down the hillside.

Day 8: Following the Hampta valley we cross a stream and climb slowly through flower strewn meadows and awesome rock formations where some unusual plants can be found. We camp on a small plateau next to a spring where we are surrounded by a panorama of breathtaking mountains.

Day 9: Following the course of a glaciated stream passing Birch woods we emerge above the tree line into lush meadows with a profusion of wild flowers and wild horses grazing sedately on the nutritious blue grass. All around tower magnificent snow clad mountain peaks. On occasion we can meet a lone shepherd tending his sheep and goats and stop briefly for a cup of steaming tea in his makeshift tent. Looking out we may spot a villager collecting herbs. Camp is held at 13,200ft at the foot of the towering Deo Tibba (Throne of the Gods) Mountain- 19,500ft.

Day 10: Rest day to relax and soak in the soothing sun and breathe in the crystal clear air. On your short strolls you may encounter semi-precious stones like quartz, onyx and aquamarine. A short climb up to a tiny glaciated lake - the Chandertal gives you an exhilarating experience.

Day 11: Walking over highlands full of incense plants and hundred of medicinal herbs we camp near a stream on a small plateau affording stunning views of the high Himalayan peaks.

Day 12: Tibetan prayer flags flutter in the brisk breeze as we descend to our last camp. A beautiful clearing next to the sacred spring of a snake god set amidst magnificent Himalayan Oak trees is our campsite. An enchanting evening spent around a roaring campfire under an inky clear sky with a million twinkling stars.

Day 13: Walking through woods of majestic pine trees where tasty wild mushrooms can be found we stop for tea at the village tea tent. Following the ancient trading path we arrive in Preeni from where you will be taken to your hotel in Manali.

Day 14&15: Free days in Manali and a time to relax and go for last minute shopping. Don't miss a stroll through the colorful Manu market with its interesting shops a few as old as the town itself.

Day 16: A short drive to Bhuntar airfield to catch your flight to Delhi. The flight itself offers breathtaking views of snow clad mountains, thick forests and green fields. Transfer to your hotel in Delhi.

Day 17: Free day in Delhi. A great opportunity to go sight seeing. For great food we suggest the Jama Masjid area in Old Delhi with its exotic mid-eastern eateries and narrow lanes selling a mind boggling variety of merchandise. Overnight at hotel.

Day 18: Transfer to Indira Gandhi International Airport for your flight back home.
