Shambala organizes budget camps to encourage young people to enjoy the wonders of nature and the excitement of camp life. These camps are set up on the outskirts of Manali and are far removed from the hustle and bustle of the town. These camps offer a 6-Day and a 10 Day stay.
Set in luxuriant meadows with breathtaking views of the upper Kullu valley, these camps offer students comfortable accommodation and healthy nutritious food. Housed in two man tents with toilet tents set aside from the main camp, students are encouraged to take part in a daily schedule that teaches them rock climbing, river crossing and takes them on day hikes and nature walks. On special demand we can also arrange for river rafting and paragliding. Not only do we inculcate a sense of respect for the environment but also instill a deep sense of responsibility in all our guests to help preserve the fragile ecology of the Himalayas. This we do by giving them short talks on the region and how they can help.
We have special discounted camps for school groups who can contact us for all the necessary arrangements. Our camp staff have years of experience in the Himalayan outdoors and are a fun loving though very responsible lot.
Just tell us the number of days you have, the number of students who would love to camp and we'll set up a fully equipped camp to cater to all needs. The Kullu Valley is known for its beautiful campsites in lush meadows with views of the towering snow clad Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar range of mountains. Further north the vast hi-altitude desert region of Spiti also offers spectacular places to camp in and we often take our student camps there for that extra bit of excitement. And that's exactly what adventure and camping is all about.
